Streaming twitter geodata to a visualisation
I wanted to explore the geographic activity on twitter with a long running visulisation.
Using a physical system consisting of three springs each drawing a different colour the image is composed of layered lines resulting in a colour gradient.
Quickly the image settle into repetition patterns with the tiniest of variations.
The images are saved once every 30mins by the same process which clears the drawing canvas.

The drawing bears no direct mapping resemblance to global geo coordinates that are used to generate to the drawing on the surface but the consistent density of specific areas leads the consculsion that the variables passed into the system push the springs into specific variable ranges.
When tweet geocoordinate data is recevied the springs are pushed towardsa the vector of that point on the surface of the earth. The different elastic and static properties of each spring results in a dfferent movement in response and as the cause and effect play themselves out a thoroughly determined yet unstable system is
Twitter activy is processed in a continuously flowing system pushing images to tumblr.
